News
FOLio Closed for Christmas Break
Folio is currently closed but will reopen on March 24. In the meantime donations of books and CDs will continue to be accepted.
Library advocates save MLK Library from Sunday closure
A last minute reprieve for the Martin Luther King Library’s Sunday hours happened only because Friends groups and others pushed city officials to restore funding. As the only DC library open on Sunday, MLK is regularly packed with job seekers using computers, students finishing term papers, parents reading to children, and residence of shelters watching sports on TV. The closure would have meant that for the first time in 30 years, there would have been no library services available on Sunday in the District. This success is proof of what we can accomplish when Friends get together.
